Chemicals for polyurethanes

Methylene Chloride

Applications:

- Polyurethane Industry (PU’s): Acts as an expanding agent providing the porosity structure necessary for the foam, aids in the formation of the structure and is used as a solvent in the removal of polyurethane residues.​

- Chemical Industry: Used as a solvent in a variety of industrial processes, including oil extraction, paint removal, metal degreasing and chemical manufacturing.

 


- Pharmaceutical Industry: Present in pharmaceutical product formulations as a solvent to extract plant compounds or as a cleaning agent.

- Plastics Industry: Used in the manufacture of polymers and resins as a solvent or as a processing agent.

Conventional Copolymer

- Chemical Name: Ethylene and propylene copolymer
- Composition: 49% solids content

Applications:

(PMDI) Polymeric Diphenylmethane Diisocyanate

- Chemical Formula: C₁₅H₁₀N₂O₂
- Molecular Weight: Approximately 250-400 g/mol (depending on the degree of polymerization)
- Physical State: Viscous brown to amber liquid
- Melting Point: -30°C
- Boiling Point: 200-250°C (decomposes)

Applications:

- Polyurethane Industry: Used in the manufacture of rigid polyurethane foams, often applied in thermal insulation for construction, household appliances and in the automotive industry.

- Adhesives and Sealants: Used in the formulation of industrial adhesives and sealants due to its excellent adhesion and resistance properties.

Polyol 6000

- Type: Polyether polyol

- Boiling point: > 200°C (depending on the composition)

Applications:

TDI 100 Toluene Diisocyanate

VHS-501 - Special Copolymer

- Styrene and acrylonitrile copolymer dispersed in a polyether glycol with a solids content between 50.1% - 52% by weight. Effectively combines a high solids content with low viscosity. Can be used for the production of conventional slab foam with very high load-bearing properties.

- Appearance: White to off-white liquid Density: >1.00 g/cm3 (25°C)
